"For over 18 years it has been an honor to bear witness to my client's pain, struggles, and trauma. I am always amazed at the resiliency and strength I see in people as watch them return to themselves in healing and growth.
What I love about counseling is that it is both a SCIENCE and an ART. We know of interventions and strategies that are proven to work...so I implement those. However, the art, shows up in unique ways, such as how language, images and personalized goals are used."
I offer effective, evidence-based outpatient, individualized, care to all clients. I specialize in depression, anxiety, process addictions, one-time and complex trauma, identity formation, family and relationship counseling. I advocate for a holistic approach integrating neurological, cognitive, emotional, and physical aspects of life in every treatment plan.
It is my ethical and clinical commitment that implores honesty and diligence to your care. With few exceptions, confidentiality is kept and a promise to do what I can to help you heal, grow, and develop beyond your current struggles.
Throughout time the EMERALD has been a symbol of TRUTH and LOVE, bringing CALMNESS and BALANCE. I see the therapeutic space as an embodiment of those characteristics as a conduit to growth, healing, and recovery.
This video was created for my MA Counseling students; however, I think the information here is helpful for potential clients to understand our options and my approach to trauma reprocessing and recovery.

Balance for better!
There is room at the table for all voices to be heard, understood, validated, and acted upon. People come alive when they feel empowered and when their life mission comes into focus.
In counseling, I work hard to find ways for my clients to overcome their struggles and craft new ways to cope and succeed in whatever reality they find themselves.

Most people in the United States struggle with depression and/or anxiety at some point in their life. Depression and anxiety are complex. Sometimes the causes are chemical, personal, relational or because of our modern culture.
In my office, I work to help normalize and thoroughly understand these emotional and psychological states. Through counseling and treatment, we can work to help you recover motivation, perspective, and a sense of wellness.
Many individuals experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. We know that even trauma from young childhood can impact a person well into adulthood.
Specifically, sexual trauma can pervade all aspects of everyday functioning and leave the survivor feeling constantly vulnerable. Loss, grief, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. Counseling can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Relationships are hard!
Counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship. Counseling can help couples cope with pain that is upon, within and between people. I predominately use the Gottman Couples Counseling.
The end of a relationship is a time for growth, reflection, and insight. I work with clients to 'make the most out of their break-ups' by asking tough questions that get to the root.
